“For the fifth time, the country is celebrating Victory Day, having been drawn by its leadership into the largest conflict in Europe since 1945. The conflict is senseless, unnecessary, criminal. And it is already clear how much work will have to be done with the politics of memory after the end of the current confrontation and - especially - after the change in the state of our country. So that May 9 is a day of remembrance, and not a tool to justify militarism. So that the “ceremonial ideology” does not overshadow the formula “never again”, which our ancestors suffered through. So that there are no wars against memory and the building of a hierarchy of victims pleasing to the regime, as is happening before our eyes with the Gulag Museum. So that criminal articles about the notorious “justifications” do not serve as a weapon of political repression. So that Victory Day, which rightfully bears the epithet Great, does not divide, but unites.

«Уже в пятый раз страна отмечает день Победы будучи втянута своим руководством в крупнейший с 1945 года конфликт в Европе. Конфликт бессмысленный, ненужный, преступный. И уже ясно, как много придется работать с политикой памяти после завершения нынешнего противостояния и - особенно - после изменения состояния нашей страны. Чтобы 9 мая было днем памяти, а не инструментом оправдания милитаризма. Чтобы “парадная идеология” не заслоняла выстраданной нашей предками формулы “никогда больше”. Чтобы не происходило войн против памяти и выстраивания угодной режиму иерархии жертв, как это происходит на наших глазах с Музеем ГУЛАГа. Чтобы уголовные статьи о пресловутых “оправданиях” не служили орудием политических репрессий. Чтобы день Победы, по полному праву носящей эпитет Великой, не разделял, а объединял.
