"Towards the Unified State Duma-2024 (and not only).
Does it make sense to take part in what the Russian elections are now? My answer: yes,
although the meaning is somewhat elusive. And yet it exists.
If we talk about opposition politicians, there are absolutely rational arguments why it is still worth participating. This is training, gaining experience, maintaining electoral tone. This is the mobilization of resources, the ability to attract supporters, a legal way of direct agitation and dissemination of one’s ideas - and one of the last still legal.
I’m not writing about the illusory possibility of winning, because in this year’s elections the ballot was completely sterilized. But I note that all of the above tasks can be carried out during the campaign period until registration is refused or removed from the elections - and this period lasts about a month. It is not necessary for a candidate to appear directly on the ballot. It sounds strange, but it's true.
Participation in elections without a choice for voters is a more complex issue. But even here there are several rational (or, if you prefer, smart) arguments why it is still worth participating. The most important thing, in my opinion, is to develop a stable habit of going to the polls - it will come in handy. And if for your region there are recommendations on how to rationally (=smartly) show the fig to the authorities, even if you only have a sterilized ballot, then in my opinion it would be extremely unwise not to take advantage of this opportunity.

Имеет ли смысл принимать участие в том, что сейчас представляют собой российские выборы ? Мой ответ: да,
хоть смысл несколько ускользающ. И тем не менее он есть.
Если говорить про оппозиционных политиков, то есть абсолютно рациональные аргументы, почему участвовать все же стоит. Это тренировка, приобретение опыта, поддержание электорального тонуса. Это мобилизация ресурсов, возможность привлечения сторонников, легальный способ прямой агитации и распространения своих идей - причем один из последних все ещё легальных.
Про призрачную возможность победить не пишу, ибо на выборах этого года бюллетень стерилизован полностью. Но отмечу, что все перечисленные выше задачи могут осуществляться во время агитационного периода до момента отказа в регистрации или снятия с выборов - а этот период имеет продолжительность около месяца. Непосредственное попадание кандидата в бюллетень не обязательно. Звучит странно, но это так.
Участие в выборах без выбора для избирателей - вопрос более сложный. Но и тут есть несколько рациональных (или, если угодно, умных) аргументов, почему участвовать все же стоит. Самое главное, на мой взгляд, это все же выработка устойчивой привычки ходить на выборы - она еще пригодится. А если для вашего региона есть рекомендации, как можно рационально (=умно) показать кукиш власти, даже при наличии лишь стерилизованного бюллетеня, то не воспользоваться данной возможностью на мой взгляд будет крайне неразумно.
