"Somewhat belatedly, I learned that Boris Lazarevich Vishnevsky - a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and deputy chairman of the Yabloko party - was recognized as a foreign agent. Lately it has been difficult to surprise me with anything. I was not surprised that one of the most popular St. Petersburg politicians, actively involved in issues of urban protection and human rights activities, received this status. I do not know the exact wording that the Ministry of Justice I came up with this time as a basis for appropriating a foreign agency, but I know for sure that this wording is nonsense and/or slander.
Among some of our progressive public there is an opinion that foreign agency status is a kind of sign of quality. And it is an honor to receive it. In a sense, this is possible, although there are a sufficient number of dubious personalities on the list of foreign agents. But first of all, foreign agency is a discriminatory and repressive status that opens the way to administrative and then criminal prosecution.
Recognizing a current deputy, and perhaps the most popular deputy in St. Petersburg, as a foreign agent is direct political pressure. The pressure is on both Boris Vishnevsky and the entire Yabloko party.
Just like the overt and arrogant pressure was the removal of Lev Shlosberg from the elections to the State Duma and the Pskov Regional Assembly of Deputies in 2021 and his recognition as a foreign agent in June 2023. As well as the exclusion from the municipal elections in Moscow in 2022 and the recognition as a foreign agent in July 2023 of the deputy chairman of the Moscow “Yabloko” and the former head of the Yakimanka district, Andrei Morev. These are far from the only such examples.
Now there is already talk about completely depriving citizens recognized as foreign agents of the right to participate in elections. It is logical that the most popular and well-known politicians from the Yabloko party, a party that consistently advocates peace, are considered foreign agents.
I express my full support to Boris Lazarevich Vishnevsky! And to all fellow party members who have received foreign agency status! I am sure that the moment of triumph of common sense is inevitable. And then all this repressive tinsel will be discarded.

“С некоторым запозданием я узнал, что Бориса Лазаревича Вишневского - депутата Законодательного собрания Санкт-Петербурга и заместителя председателя партии “Яблоко” - признали иноагентом. Последнее время меня сложно чем-либо удивить. Не удивился я и тому, что один из самых популярных петербургских политиков , активно занимающийся вопросами градозащиты и правозащитной деятельностью, получил этот статус. Не знаю точной формулировки, которую Минюст придумал в этот раз в качестве основания для присвоения иноагентства, зато точно знаю, что это формулировка - бред и/или клевета.
Среди некоторой части нашей прогрессивной общественности бытует мнение, что иноагентский статус - это как бы знак качества. И получить его почетно. В каком-то смысле это возможно и так, хотя в списке иноагентов есть достаточное количество сомнительных личностей. Но все же в первую очередь иноагентство - это дискриминационный и репрессивный статус, открывающий дорогу к административному, а затем и уголовному преследованию.
Признание иноагентом действующего депутата, причем, пожалуй, самого популярного депутата в Санкт-Петербурге, - это прямое политическое давление. Давление и на Бориса Вишневского, и на всю партию “Яблоко”.
Точно так же, как неприкрытым и наглым давлением являлось снятие Льва Шлосберга с выборов в Государственную Думу и Псковское областное собрание депутатов в 2021 году и признание его иноагентом в июне 2023 года. Как и недопуск до муниципальных выборов в Москве в 2022 году и признание иноагентом в июле 2023 года зампреда московского “Яблока” и бывшего главы района Якиманка Андрея Морева.Это далеко не единственные подобные примеры.
Сейчас уже идут разговоры о том, чтобы вообще лишить граждан, признанных иноагентами, права участвовать в выборах. Логично, что в иноагенты заносят самых популярных и известных политиков из партии “Яблоко” - партии, последовательно выступающей за мир.
Выражаю свою полную поддержку Борису Лазаревичу Вишневскому! И всем однопартийцам, получившим иноагентский статус! Уверен, что момент торжества здравого смысла неизбежен. И тогда вся эта репрессивная мишура будет отброшена.
