"November 4 and other holidays of New Russia.
T.N. National Unity Day is a very strange holiday. I am sure that the majority of the Russian population has difficulty answering the question: “what exactly is proposed to be celebrated on this day?”
Let's voice the official version: the liberation of Moscow from Polish invaders in 1612 by the militia of Minin and Pozharsky. Without mentioning the fact that our legislators screwed up the dates when translating from the old style of the 17th century. to the new one, then everything more or less converges. Give or take a couple of days. Do people know about these events? Pretty sure not really.
The real reason for the appearance of the holiday is simple: in place of the old date of the October Revolution, November 7, the closest ideologically suitable event on the calendar was selected. People are used to the holiday at the beginning of November. Nate, don't feel sorry. But only with the right ideological charge.
I even remember the film “1612” made for this case in 2007. This is a clumsy craft based on the events of the Time of Troubles, which lacked only banners with Putin and a trained bear campaigning for United Russia. But Mikhail Porechenkov was there in the role of Prince Pozharsky. I won't continue.
November 4th is a very dubious holiday. Another reason to relax, go somewhere or just have a drink, nothing more. But the problem is that in the history of post-Soviet Russia there is not a single new holiday that has taken root, in any way connected with our statehood.
A great example is June 12th. Which of you, dear readers, seriously celebrated Russia Day? I will say more, on TV they periodically criticize the reason for the introduction of this holiday, namely the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the RSFSR on June 12, 1990, as one of the events that later contributed to the collapse of the USSR.
In addition, there is Flag Day - August 22, and Constitution Day - December 12. These are good, important dates. August 22, 1991 - victory over the putsch of the State Emergency Committee. December 12, 1993 is the day of voting for the Constitution of the Russian Federation and elections to the State Duma and the Federation Council of the first convocation (this, by the way, was the first and last direct elections to the Federation Council). Although the Constitution was initially defective, and later completely corrupted by repeated amendments, it was still a significant event.
August 22 and December 12 also did not receive any widespread recognition. Have your relatives ever called you to congratulate you on Russian Tricolor Day? Or did your friends invite you over to drink to the Constitution? I think not, although it’s probably a shame.
I’d rather not talk about completely new holiday creation, like September 30th - the day of the annexation of certain new territories, which at the same time seem to be not new, but the most primordial ones. I already have six articles. I will only express cautious doubts that this “holiday” will last for any long time.
The result is disappointing. For more than thirty years, not a single truly popular holiday date associated with the new Russian identity has appeared in Russia. I'm not saying that they are necessarily necessary. I'm just stating a fact.

Т.н. день народного единства - праздник весьма странный. Уверен, что большая часть населения России испытывает затруднения при ответе на вопрос: “что именно предлагается отмечать в этот день?”
Озвучим официальную версию: освобождение Москвы от польских интервентов в 1612 г. ополчением Минина и Пожарского. Если не упоминать тот факт, что наши законодатели напортачили с датами при переводе со старого стиля XVII в. на новый, то все более-менее сходится. Плюс-минус пара дней. Знают ли люди об этих событиях? Почти уверен, что не особо.
Реальная причина появления праздника проста: на место старой даты октябрьской революции 7 ноября было подобрано ближайшее по календарю идейно подходящее событие. Народ привык к празднику в начале ноября. Нате, не жалко. Но только с правильным идеологическим зарядом.
Помню даже снятый под это дело году в 2007 фильм “1612”. Это аляповатая поделка по мотивам событий Смутного времени, в которой не хватало разве что хоругвей с Путиным и дрессированного медведя, агитирующего за Единую Россию. Зато был там Михаил Пореченков в роли князя Пожарского. Продолжать не буду.
4 ноября - праздник весьма сомнительный. Очередной повод отдохнуть, куда-нибудь съездить или просто выпить, не более. Но проблема в том, что в истории постсоветской России нет ни одного прижившегося нового праздника, как-либо связанного с нашей государственностью.
Отличный пример - 12 июня. Кто из вас, дорогие читатели, серьезно праздновал день России? Я скажу больше, по телевизору периодически хаят повод к введению этого праздника, а именно принятие Декларации о государственном суверенитете РСФСР от 12 июня 1990г., как одно из событий, послуживших потом делу развала СССР.
Помимо этого есть день флага - 22 августа, и день Конституции - 12 декабря. Это хорошие, важные даты. 22 августа 1991 г. - победа над путчем ГКЧП. 12 декабря 1993 г. - день голосования за Конституцию РФ и выборы в Государственную думу и Совет Федерации первого созыва (в Совет Федерации это, к слову, были первые и последние прямые выборы). Хоть Конституция изначально было дефектной, а позже окончательно изгажена неоднократными поправками, но все же событие значимое.
22 августа и 12 декабря хоть сколько-нибудь широкого признания тоже не получили. Вам когда-нибудь звонили родственники, чтобы поздравить с днем российского триколора? Или звали в гости друзья - выпить за Конституцию? Думаю, что нет, хотя, наверное обидно.
Про совсем новое праздникотворчество, вроде 30 сентября - день присоединения неких новых территорий, которые в то же самое время вроде как и не новые, а самые что ни на есть исконные, я говорить лучше не буду. У меня и так уже есть шесть статей. Выражу лишь осторожное сомнение относительно того, что “праздник”этот просуществует сколько-нибудь долгое время.
Итог напрашивается неутешительный. За тридцать с лишним лет в России не появилось ни одной действительно популярной праздничной даты, связанной с новой российской идентичностью. Не говорю, что они обязательно нужны. Просто констатирую факт.
