“New Year in a pre-trial detention center.
Dear friends! Almost the entire December in my pre-trial detention center there was some kind of chaos (sorry, but this is the most accurate word) with the FSIN-letter service, and during the holidays letters were not sent. That’s why I couldn’t wish you a Happy New Year on time. I am correcting myself and, somewhat belatedly, I wish everyone a Happy New Year! I wish everyone peace and happiness!
And since I’m writing after the New Year, with your permission I’ll briefly tell you how it went in pre-trial detention center-7 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Moscow. Overall, there was nothing special. Until December 31st, there were persistent rumors that the administration of the pre-trial detention center would make concessions and move the curfew to after midnight. Apparently this was the case a year ago. But, spoiler alert, on the 31st they announced that lights out would be at 22:00, and the TV would be turned off a quarter of an hour before that. That is, everything is as usual. And so it happened.
The New Year's table is a different story. In my cell, like in most others, there is no refrigerator. This time December 31st fell on a Sunday, and the last groceries from the store could only be delivered on the 29th, Friday. Two days is just the limit for doctor’s sausage at room temperature.
As a result, we made one salad from all the products that had been left over and more or less combined with each other (the recipe will be at the end), and sandwiches. They put sweets and lemonades on the table - cola and duchess. And tangerines, where would we be without them? Fortunately, a week before the New Year, 5 kg of them were brought from the store. They didn’t make an impromptu cake from cookies, condensed milk and jam (sometime later).
As I already said, nothing special, but there was still some kind of festive mood. And although there was a curfew at 10 p.m., that didn’t stop us from waiting until midnight (you can check the time with the TV turned off) and celebrating with a duchess. I also ate a tangerine, where would I be without it? This is the New Year!
Warm New Year's greetings from the pre-trial detention center to everyone!
And here is the promised salad recipe (it turned out quite well):
- chicken (we had canned breast fillet, but I recommend boiled thigh fillet);
- tomatoes (we used cherry tomatoes, but you can use any);
- sweet corn;
- bell pepper;
- red onion;
- semi-hard/hard cheese (grated or finely chopped);
- mayonnaise.
The pepper was a little unnecessary for my liking, but there wasn't too much of it and it added a nice crunch. If someone doesn’t really like onions, then before adding them to the salad, you can scald them with boiling water or soak them in vinegar. Or just don't add it. Bon appetit!😋😋😋

“Новый год в СИЗО.
Дорогие друзья! Почти весь декабрь в моем СИЗО был какой-то бардак (простите, но это самое точное слово) с сервисом ФСИН-письмо, а на праздниках письма не ходили. Поэтому не смог вовремя вас поздравить с Новым годом. Исправляюсь и с некоторым запозданием поздравляю всех с уже наступившим Новым годом! Желаю всем мира и счастья!
И раз уж пишу после Нового года, то с вашего позволения кратко расскажу, как он прошел в СИЗО-7 УФСИН России по г. Москве. В целом, ничего особенного не было. До 31-ого декабря ходили упорные слухи, что администрация СИЗО сделает поблажку и перенесет отбой на после полуночи. Якобы так и было год назад. Но, спойлер-спойлер, 31-ого числа объявили, что отбой будет в 22:00, а телевизор отключат за четверть часа до этого. То есть все как обычно. Так и произошло.
С новогодним столом отдельная история. В моей камере, как и в большинстве других, холодильника нет. 31-ое декабря в этот раз выпало на воскресенье, и последние продукты из магазина могли принести только 29-ого числа, в пятницу. Два дня - как раз предел для докторской колбасы при комнатной температуре.
В итоге сделали один салат из всех продуктов, что долежали и более-менее сочетались друг с другом (рецепт будет в конце), и бутерброды. Поставили на стол сладкое и лимонады - колу и дюшес. И мандарины, куда ж без них. Благо, за неделю до Нового года их принесли из магазина 5 кг. Импровизированный торт из печенья, сгущенки и джема делать не стали (как-нибудь потом).
Как я уже сказал, ничего особенного, но какое-никакое праздничное настроение все же было. И хотя в 22:00 был отбой, это не помешало нам дождаться полуночи (в выключенном телевизоре можно посмотреть время) и отметить это делом дюшесом. Я и мандарином закусил, куда ж без этого. Вот такой вот Новый год!
Всем пламенный новогодний привет из СИЗО!
А вот обещанный рецепт салата (он получился вполне себе):
- курица (у нас было консервированное филе грудки, но я рекомендую отварное филе бедра);
- помидоры (у нас были черри, но можно любые);
- кукуруза сладкая;
- перец болгарский;
- лук красный;
- сыр полутвердый/твердый (тертый или мелко нарезанный);
- майонез.
На мой взгляд перец был немного лишним, но его было не очень много и он добавлял приятный хруст. Если кто-то не очень любит лук, то перед добавлением в салат его можно ошпарить кипятком или вымочить в уксусе. Или просто не добавлять. Приятного аппетита!😋😋😋
