). So, soups!
Of course, soups are served for lunch. Lunch in the pre-trial detention center, let me remind you, is somewhere around 13-15 hours. For lunch there is first course, second course and compote (sometimes jelly, very rarely tea). I already wrote about the second and compote. Let's move on to the first one. Here is a list of soups that were served for lunch over the past three months: cabbage soup, borscht, rassolnik, pasta soup, pea soup. That seems to be all. Let's go in order. They gave cabbage soup in June, then they disappeared somewhere. They were relatively edible. Recently they appeared again, and these updated cabbage soup is not bad at all. There is nothing more to say about cabbage soup. 
Let's move on to borscht. It should be noted right away that this is some kind of variation on the theme of borscht, nothing more. So the name “borscht” is used here with some degree of convention. At first it was something that we even called “earthen soup.” Its color was dark brown, and it really smelled like earth (I remember the dialogue from the famous film: - And how does it taste? - Well, like earth). There is a possibility that no one really washed or peeled the beets before putting them into the soup. But about a month ago, the color of the soup changed to a pleasant pinkish-red, and the taste improved noticeably. This “borscht” has become very edible. The only thing is that it is quite sour, most likely due to the fact that sauerkraut is added there. But you can eat. 
Rassolnik - it is given very often, it is quite edible. It contains potatoes, pickled cucumbers and pearl barley. Because of the cucumbers, this soup is also sour, but pickle soup seems to be like that. Its quality is stable. 
Pasta soup is the weakest link after “earth soup”. You can eat, but it doesn’t stimulate your appetite, because... the pasta is boiled into a porridge that floats in the broth. In addition to pasta, there are potatoes and carrots.
And the last thing is pea soup. Let me remind you that it can be used both as a soup and as a second course. Maximum edible, even tasty. But I wrote about it in the second part of the story about food in a pre-trial detention center. 
One more thing needs to be said about soups: they all contain meat, beef. The meat is decent, sometimes you can get 2-3 good pieces in one plate. This, of course, depends on your luck and what ends up in the ladle. But more often than not, meat still ends up on the plate. 
It would seem that this could be the end of the story about food in the pre-trial detention center, but I think that the story would be incomplete without stories about food from transfers, about the “Sit and Eat” store and much more. Therefore
