"Impossible is the word of the year. More precisely for the last two years. Almost nothing is forbidden. Pickets, especially rallies, are prohibited. Posts and speeches are punishable: “Our speeches cannot be heard ten steps away.” Well, almost.
But you can’t forbid thinking yet. You can and should cultivate a “non-enthusiastic way of thinking.” You can and should realize for yourself that there should not be such a state of affairs that has existed for two years. There should be no senseless sacrifices made just for the sake of the ratings and ambitions of a person whose concepts of international relations were borrowed from the back alley.
What else is possible? What else can you do on this day? Read “All Quiet on the Western Front” by Remarque, “Catch-22” by Heller. In the end, “The Adventures of the Good Soldier Schweik” by Hasek. What other famous anti-war people are there?
