"I heard on the news that the German authorities reported on a budget in which 2% of expenses are allocated to defense. If anything, a minimum budget expenditure of 2% is a NATO requirement for all members of the alliance. But few people actually fulfill this requirement. The United States has always had serious complaints about this to Germany, as one of its most important allies in Europe. And now Germany is finally announcing an increase in spending on the army and bringing it to the required 2% of the budget.
At the same time, in power in Germany there is a rather motley, but still rather center-left coalition (Social Democrats - Greens - Liberals), for which increasing defense spending is, in principle, a somewhat atypical policy. What happened? The answer is obvious. And NATO leaders and arms lobbyists and industrialists give Putin a standing ovation.
The same applies to the entry into NATO of Finland, which maintained its neutral status for a long time after the Second World War and was proud of it. By the way, presidential elections were recently held there. The Finnish president does not have full power, but he significantly influences the country's foreign policy. And this was the main topic in the election race.
In the end, the center-right A. Stubb, supported by the currently ruling coalition, won. On domestic television I saw a report about this, ending with the words that Mr. Stubb won in the second round and with a minimal margin, which means that almost half of Finnish citizens do not agree with his tough position towards Russia. Which, of course, is complete nonsense, since A. Stubbe’s rival, the center-left P. Hoavisto, has exactly the same attitude towards Russia, and people gave their vote to one candidate or another, based more on party or personal preferences. And in the first round, all the main candidates had complete consensus on this issue. And all thanks to the peaceful political course of V.V. Putin.

“Услышал по новостям, что власти Германии отчитались о бюджете, в котором 2% расходов заложено на оборону. Если что, минимум бюджетных трат в 2% - это требование НАТО для всех членов альянса. Но требование это на деле мало кто выполняет. У США всегда были серьезные претензии по этому поводу к Германии, как к одному из своих важнейших союзников в Европе. И вот Германия наконец заявляет о повышении расходов на армию и доведении их до требуемых 2% в бюджете.
При этом у власти в Германии стоит довольно разношерстная, но все же скорее левоцентристская коалиция (Социал-демократы - Зеленые - Либералы), для которой повышение расходов на оборону в принципе является несколько нетипичной политикой. Что же случилось? Ответ очевиден. А лидеры НАТО и оружейные лоббисты и промышленники аплодируют Путину стоя.
То же самое относится и к вступлению в НАТО Финляндии, сохранявшей свой нейтральной статус долгое время после Второй Мировой войны и гордившейся этим. К слову, там совсем недавно прошли президентские выборы. Финский президент всей полнотой власти не обладает, но заметно влияет на внешнеполитический курс страны. И именно эта тема была главной в предвыборной гонке.
Победил в итоге правоцентрист А. Стубб, поддержанный правящей сейчас коалицией. По отечественному телевидению я видел репортаж об этом, заканчивающийся словами, что, мол, господин Стубб победил во втором туре и с минимальным перевесом , а это значит, что почти половина граждан Финляндии не согласна с его жесткой позицией в отношении России. Что, естественно, полная ерунда, так как соперник А. Стуббе левоцентрист П. Хоависто настроен по отношению к России ровно так же, а люди отдавали свой голос тому или другому кандидату, исходя скорее из партийных или личных предпочтений. Да и в первом туре у всех основных кандидатов был по этому вопросу полный консенсус. А все благодаря миролюбивому политическому курсу Путина В.В.
