“First anniversary.
On June 6, exactly a year has passed since the so-called The “Vesna case” took a new turn and six more people were detained in connection with it, including me. And since June 8, 2023, that is, just a year, I have been in pre-trial detention center-7 in Moscow and have left it only six times during this time: four times I was taken to the Basmanny District Court to extend the preventive measure, once - most recently - to the Moscow City Court for the same purpose, and one more time - last July - for a psychological and psychiatric examination.
The rest of the time, my life was limited by the walls of the pre-trial detention center, and for the most part by the walls of a not very large four-person cell, in which at times eight people were sitting. But mostly still six. Life was still in full swing. And now I will prove it to you. Let's go through the numbers and, as bloggers call it, the highlights of this year spent in pre-trial detention. So I:
- I saw about 100 people - my cellmates, who were in this pre-trial detention center only for a two-week quarantine, while I sit here all the time;
- I witnessed two epileptic attacks among fellow inmates (both times they said that everything ended fine, but the sight was difficult);
- followed the military mutiny of E. Prigozhin using the meager news reports of the Mayak radio station;
- spent his birthday in the Basmanny Court;
- I heard I. Allegrova’s song “Junior Lieutenant” a million times on the “Police Wave” radio, which played in the exercise yards all last summer and almost all autumn and winter;

- went for a walk in -28 degrees in early January;

in a pre-trial detention center, which in itself is priceless;
- as I noted above, I saw how there were eight of us in a four-bed cell, it’s possible to live, but not very well;
- got acquainted with 96 volumes of the criminal case, which was, take my word for it, an extremely dull undertaking;

a huge number of letters of support from family, friends, acquaintances and strangers and tried to answer everyone as much as possible.

I will end by affirming that I remain a convinced optimist. And I urge everyone to maintain and practice radical optimism. If we do not have faith in the best, then this best will not come, and a pessimistic self-fulfilling prophecy will reliably ensure a vicious circle. Therefore, remember: Russia will be free!
