“Based on the results of the American elections.
The US elections are over. We can say that a good political system is one where the coming to power of not even the best candidate (and in the last elections the probability of such an outcome was 100%) generally does not threaten its existence, because the system will digest him in any case, with greater or lesser costs for itself.
Trump's rise to power in 2016 was unexpected, but nothing more. It was interesting then to observe how he integrated into the political establishment and interacted with it: one can recall some leapfrog in his office and even a quarrel with his own Vice President Pence after the unsuccessful 2020 elections. But now it is no longer possible to consider him a non-system player. Moreover, he will not go beyond the boundaries of checks and balances, even with the Republican majority in Congress and the predominance of conservatives in the Supreme Court.
Separately, I will say that, despite its obvious archaic nature, I like the American electoral system. In my opinion, despite all its obvious shortcomings, it is a good reflection of American federalism, and in addition, it reminds us of voting in the ancient Roman comitia, where the votes of entire centuries or tribes, rather than individual voters, were also taken into account when determining the final result - so we are seeing a beautiful parallel with ancient republican practices.

«По итогам американских выборов.
Вот и прошли выборы в США. Можно сказать, что хороша та политическая система, где приход к власти даже не самого лучшего кандидата (а на прошедших выборах вероятность такого исхода была равна 100%) в целом не ставит под угрозу ее существование, ибо система его в любом случае переварит, с большими или меньшими издержками для себя.
Приход Трампа к власти в 2016 году был неожиданным, но не более того. Интересно было тогда наблюдать, как он встраивался в политический истеблишмент и взаимодействовал с ним: можно вспомнить некоторую чехарду в его кабинете и даже ссору со своим же вице президентом Пенсом после неудачных выборов 2020 года. Но сейчас считать его несистемным игроком уже нельзя. И тем более он не выйдет за границы сдержек и противовесов, даже с республиканским большинством в Конгрессе и превалированием консерваторов в Верховном суде.
Отдельно скажу, что мне, несмотря на свою явную архаичность, симпатична американская система выборщиков. На мой взгляд, при всех явных недостатках, она является хорошим отражением американского федерализма, а помимо этого напоминает о голосовании в древнеримских комициях, где при определении итогового результата тоже учитывались голоса не отдельных избирателей, а целых центурий или триб - так что мы наблюдаем красивую параллель с античными республиканскими практиками.
