Another conflict, this time between Thailand and Cambodia, is interesting because both parties involved are monarchies. The “ultima ratio regum” immediately comes to mind, but local kings do not particularly influence public policy, being purely constitutional monarchs: in Cambodia - under a very strict authoritarian regime, and in Thailand - under a constant leapfrog of military and civilian governments. Somewhat unobviously, Southeast Asia is the third most concentrated region of the world of monarchies, after Western Asia.
Europe and the Gulf countries: in addition to the above-mentioned Cambodia and
Thailand also has the monarchical federation of Malaysia and the Sultanate of Brunei.

«И сегодня совсем коротко про Юго-Восточную Азию.
Очередной конфликт, на этот раз между Тайландом и Камбоджей, занятен тем, что обе вовлеченные стороны являются монархиями. Сразу вспоминается "ultima ratio regum", но местные короли на государственную политику особо не влияют, являясь чисто конституционными монархами: в Камбодже – при весьма жестком авторитарном режиме, а в Тайланде – при постоянной чехарде военных и гражданских правительств. Несколько неочевидно, но Юго-Восточная Азия является третьим по концентрации монархий регионом мира, после Западной
Европы и стран Персидского залива: помимо вышеназванных Камбоджи и
Тайланда там есть еще монархическая федерация Малайзия и султанат Бруней.
